

Without it they lose purpose of existing thus why between good and evil there's a lot of gray to fill in the gaps. Good and evil are and should be and represent opposing forces. Like you're not supposed to try and be best buddies with someone or even worse something that want's you dead because you simply exist. You cannot have someone kill your whole family and village and you say "well turn the other cheek" or "forgive and forget" on spot because that makes you a monster on par with those who committed the terrible act.

Turn the other cheek is a sign of restraint. Forgive and forget is when someone asks for forgiveness or to not be offended by trivial matters. That's a flawed understanding of what good is or even Christianity.

It might come off as silly but in a world dealing with absolute alignment like this or DnD for example.that is what we get. ultimate goodness is to accept them as they are and embrace that they come with flaws, you know, that whole "forgive and forget and turn other cheek etc".
